The program has received full support from the East Java Provincial Social Services, which is committed to improving the welfare and social inclusion of people with disabilities in the region. The lecturer from the Faculty of Education added that the Sheltered Workshop is essential to provide opportunities for individuals with disabilities to actively participate in economic and social activities.
"We strive to create a disability-friendly environment and help them develop the necessary skills to be independent in daily life," he said. The program involves various types of disabilities, including visual impairments, hearing impairments, and individuals with developmental disorders. They will be provided with skill training that matches their interests and potential.
Additionally, the program will offer participants the opportunity to engage in various community projects that will benefit the East Java community. The Head of East Java Social Services expressed her commitment to supporting the Sheltered Workshop program and hopes that this will be the first step towards increasing social inclusion for people with disabilities throughout the province.
"We are very proud of this initiative, and we will provide full support to ensure the success of the Sheltered Workshop program. This is a positive step towards a more inclusive and equitable society for all its citizens," said Restu Novi Widiani.
