Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA- Faculty of Engineering (FT) Surabaya State University (UNESA) launched four business units in a series of Faculty of Engineering Technology Week in Building A9, UNESA, Ketintang Campus, on Saturday, September 28, 2024. The launch, which was attended by UNESA's leadership and civitas cingkung, is a form of commitment in improving the business ecosystem and campus innovation.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Suparji explained that there are four business units launched this time, namely Boganesa, Glownesa, Fashionesa, and Boponesa. The professor of the Faculty of Engineering detailed, Boganesa is a service for consumption needs for events, meetings, and other activities organized by internal and external campuses.
Then, Glownesa is a hair and beauty salon business for anyone who wants to do treatments such as make up, basic spa, hair care, and basic facials. Furthermore, there is Fashionesa, a trademark developed for the commercial interests of UNESA's Fashion Education S-1 Study Program.

“This brand serves as a means of publication, promotion, and marketing for fashion works produced by lecturers and students of UNESA's Fashion Design Education study program,” she said.
In addition, Fashionesa also offers non-formal education services in the form of courses in fashion design, such as pattern making, sewing, draping, crafts, and accessories. Not only that, Fashionesa also accepts custom made orders, including uniforms, deliveries, hand bouquet, and other products.
Furthermore, there is a Boponesa Motorcycle Workshop that serves injection/non injection services, tire changes, oil changes, battery changes, spare parts changes, and injection system scans.
“These four business units are a means of innovation to develop various campus-made products and open opportunities for students to gain practical experience through internship programs,” he said.

With these business units, students not only learn theory, but can also go directly into the industrial world through these business units, which also provide an opportunity to hone their skills and expand their professional network.
Vice Rector for Academic, Student Affairs and Alumni, Madlazim mentioned that the launch of these four business units is a positive step that is very beneficial for students.
This is in line with UNESA's changing vision after becoming a State University with Legal Status (PTN-BH), which is to become a university of education that is resilient, innovative, adaptive, and entrepreneurship-oriented.
“Therefore, entrepreneurship is not only taught in theory, but also applied directly through practice. This business unit provides an opportunity for students, especially in the Faculty of Engineering, to apply the theories of entrepreneurship that have been learned,” he said.

The FMIPA professor continued, this business unit is a great opportunity for students to apply the technology they have learned and develop it into a business needed by the community.
In the long run, UNESA plans to support other faculties to build more business units. Each faculty is encouraged to be able to produce innovations and products that are marketable and certainly have an impact on society.
In addition, in addition to the launch of business units, the Faculty of Engineering Technology Week presents a number of other activities, ranging from public lectures, lab competitions, lab open houses, healthy gymnastics, technology exhibitions, bazaars, to healthy walks.[]
