UNESA Holds National Training Participated in by PPKS Task Forces throughout Indonesia

Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—The Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (Satgas PPKS) from various universities across Indonesia participated in a national training organized by the Directorate of Prevention and Handling of Strategic Issues (PPIS) at Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA).
The training, themed 'Skilled in Handling Sexual Violence Cases in Higher Education,' was held over two days, Wednesday-Thursday, October 23-24, 2024, at Midtown Residence Surabaya.
Opening the event, Vice Rector 1 for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Madlazim, stated that this activity is important as an effort to strengthen the prevention and handling of sexual violence cases in higher education.

"Attended by 100 task force members from 50 universities in Indonesia, this agenda is a manifestation of our seriousness and commitment to creating a zero-violence, safe, and friendly campus environment for all," said the professor from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA).
Through this activity, inter-campus task forces can strengthen synergy and share experiences on how handling and prevention are carried out on their respective campuses.
"From here, we can formulate effective prevention and handling models and strategies to be applied on each campus," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director of PPIS UNESA, Mutimmatul Faidah, stated that this National Task Force Training was attended by PPKS Task Forces from across Indonesia, including state universities, private universities, polytechnics, academies, and communities.
There are several goals expected through this activity, namely that the PPKS Task Forces become more skilled in carrying out their duties and functions in creating a zero-violence campus environment.
More specifically, with this training, the PPKS Task Forces become more skilled in profiling and case control, skilled in case investigation and development, skilled in drafting case conclusions and recommendations, assessing sanctions, and controlling the media.

"This training serves as an alternative discussion channel, strengthening and solidifying our shared commitment to prevent and reject violence in any form in higher education," she explained.
During the two-day event, participants engaged in sharing and discussion sessions with several speakers such as Chatarina Muliana Girsang (Inspector General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology); AKP Rina Shanty Nainggolan, Head of the Women and Children Protection Unit at the Surabaya Police Criminal Investigation Department;
Additionally, with Mutimmatul Faidah, Director of PPIS UNESA; Iman Pasu Purba, Head of PPKS UNESA; and Vinda Maya Setianingrum, Director of Public Relations and Public Information UNESA.[*]
