Awesome! Unesa's P2MW Team Designs an Automatic Egg Incubator That Can Be Controlled via Gadgets.

Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Students from the State University of Surabaya (Unesa) who are part of the Entrepreneurial Student Development Program (P2MW) team in the field of Manufacturing and Applied Technology have designed an automatic egg incubator machine equipped with temperature control and Internet of Things (IoT)-based monitoring.
The team leader, Andre Syaputra, stated that the machine, named Smart Eggperience, functions to accelerate the egg hatching process for farmers. The machine has dimensions of 80.5 cm x 56 cm x 46 cm and can accommodate up to 100 eggs.
"This machine allows farmers to set and control the temperature automatically," he continued. "The condition of the incubator can be monitored in real-time via smartphone and has an automatic egg-turning system, which can increase efficiency and reduce egg hatching failures."
"Our enthusiasm behind the creation of this machine is to address the problems that farmers have been complaining about concerning problematic egg hatching and so on. With this, farmers' work can be more effective and efficient. The quality of the products or eggs is also unquestionable and can compete with other products," he said.
With this innovation, they hope to help poultry farmers increase their productivity, especially in producing quality eggs. Furthermore, it aims to enhance the role of the livestock sector, tackle the challenges of seed prices, and significantly increase the egg hatching rate.
"Smart Eggperience is not just a product; it's a step forward in supporting the growth and sustainability of the poultry farming industry in Indonesia," emphasized the undergraduate student of Mechanical Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering.
The team designing the machine consists of Andre Syaputra (Mechanical Engineering Education), Muchammad Bagus Setiawan (Mechanical Engineering), Yuliantoro Wahyu Tirto Buono (Office Administration Education), Susanti (Management), and Nur Ifani Chairunnisa (Culinary Education).
They collaborated with Rizdana Galih Pambudi (Mechanical Engineering Education), Bima Anshari (Mechanical Engineering Education), and Ludowikus Dumotus Juon Junior (Electrical Engineering Education). They were supervised by Fendi Achmad, S.Pd, M.Pd.[]
