UNESA Showcases Technological Products and Eco-Friendly Fashion Creations at the 2024 Innovation Exhibition

This innovation is equipped with temperature control, water level indicators, and a low-pressure dual-burner stove that can produce faster and more even dyeing compared to conventional steamers.

"With this machine, the colors and patterns from the leaves can transfer perfectly onto the batik fabric, even to the point where the leaf fibers are visible," she said.

The main features of this machine include a special large-sized pot for fabric rolls, automatic temperature control, a fabric roll rack, and a wheeled frame for easy mobility.

This machine has a capacity of up to 30 pieces of batik fabric, using an LPG stove heating system.

In terms of benefits, the Ecodye Steamer makes the dyeing process faster, more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly because it reduces the use of chemicals in dyeing.

The final results can be crafted into various products such as clothing, bags, shoes, and even cowhide as the base material for ecoprinting.

Additionally, this exhibition involved several universities, namely the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), Airlangga University (Unair), and the National Veteran Development University of East Java (UPNV Jatim).

Furthermore, participants also came from the Sunan Ampel State Islamic University (UINSA), Petra Christian University, Nahdlatul Ulama University Surabaya (Unusa), and PGRI Adi Buana University.[*]
