Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA – The Student Association of the Sports Science Study Program (HMP Ikor) of the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK), participating in the Student Organization Capacity Building Program (PPK Ormawa), represented UNESA in the 2024 National Community Service Competition at Udayana University (Unud), Bali.
They were officially released by the Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni (Ditmawal) in the Rectorate Lobby of Surabaya State University (UNESA) Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, Surabaya on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
PPK Ormawa is a program to strengthen the capacity of student organizations through a series of organizational development processes by universities, which are implemented in community service and empowerment programs.
In this competition, they chose the topic "Nation and Digital" and carried the innovation titled "Digital Waste Bank." Through this program, they are addressing the waste problem in Sukomanunggal, Surabaya.

Muhamad Sholeh, Director of Student Affairs and Alumni at UNESA, stated that the success of HMP Ikor students in qualifying for the PPK Ormawa competition brings a good image to UNESA.
According to him, this program will hopefully provide experience, and students can continue to learn to serve while also learning to compete.
"Hopefully, the work that has been prepared can be presented as well as possible and can win the championship like the previous year," he said.
Nur Muhammad Ibrahim Satya Haq, a delegate of the PPK Ormawa HMP Ikor, explained that this program was designed to reduce the volume of waste in Sukomanunggal, Surabaya, by using a digital waste bank system.
Sukomanunggal, he continued, has the most waste in Surabaya; this is the focus of this PPK Ormawa program.
"Hopefully, not only HMP IKOR can be a delegate in PPK Ormawa because this is not only a competition but also community empowerment and improvement of people's welfare," he explained. [*]
