The mechanical engineering lecturer mentioned that this drying machine can dry herbal medicine preparations at temperatures ranging from 40 to 70 degrees. Their innovation has already been used by several SMEs in Sidoarjo and Madiun, even for drying cassava chips.
"After we made a few, the market response was extraordinary. Many SMEs ordered it for herbal medicine, chips, and even agricultural products like rice or paddy," he added.
Agung and his team will continue to develop the machine, including adjusting the temperature inside the machine to make it more even and accurate. In the future, they will make the machine with horizontal dimensions. The horizontal shape change is considered to improve the refinement of the heat source and its control system.
"So, if using a horizontal shape, the heat flow is not only from bottom to top but also from left to right, making the drying process faster and more even," he explained.
